Visited Czech TV’s office yesterday, the largest national broadcaster in the Czech Republic. We toured their news office, where we got to see their three studios, offices, master control room and watch 2 live news broadcasts. Their most recent claim to fame is breaking the story above that has gone viral internationally, of President Vaclav Klaus stealing a pen from the Chilean president.

My Media Impact in Central Europe class took a field trip to Radio 6 on Monday, which is located in a gorgeous old home in Praha 10. It is a small radio station that broadcasts only news and political talk shows. We were fortunate enough to get a tour from the Chief Editor of the station, who spoke to us about the station and house’s history, as well as the challenges facing radio broadcasting in today’s age of the Internet.
The Strahov Monastery is a medieval library that sits atop Hradcany. It is composed of four parts: The Basilica of Our Lady, the Theological Hall, the Cabinet of Curiosities and the Philosophical Hall. The halls are astoundingly beautiful, particularly the Philosophical Hall, which reminded us of the library in Beauty & the Beast. This hall is also the location of the world’s largest indoor picture.
Since my history teacher works there, we got to actually go explore the halls and look at some of the books, which tourists are usually forbidden from doing.
Around Prague from the past few weeks.
